The dish is fairly deep and i don t want to load it up with food and use the handle to have it break off while i am removing something heavy from the oven.

Anyone suggesting superglue or krazyglue should have their mouths washed out with cyanoacrylate. Epoxy spillover on soft ceramic e g terra cotta is undesirable. After setting epoxy is strong and is more resistant to removal should you leave excess and requires sanding along the glue line. Not sure what to use here.
